lactation education and feeding support

Reassurance when you need it most

Feeding your baby can come with so many questions, emotions, opinions, and “is this normal?” moments.

Whether this is your first baby or your third, every breastfeeding journey can look completely different. What worked with one baby may not work with another. What felt easy one day may feel overwhelming the next. And sometimes, you just need someone to help you sort through what’s normal, what’s not, and what your next step could be.

Lactation and breastfeeding support is designed to help you feel more informed, confident, and supported, without pressure, shame, or one-size-fits-all advice.

Whether your goal is breastfeeding, pumping, bottle-feeding, combo feeding, or simply learning more about your options, support is centered around you, your baby, and what feels realistic for your family.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding support does not have to start after baby arrives. Preparing during pregnancy can help you feel more grounded and less caught off guard in those early days.

Prenatal breastfeeding support can help you understand what to expect with the first feeds, how milk supply works, what colostrum is, how often newborns typically eat, and what normal feeding patterns can look like in the beginning.

We can also talk through hunger cues, positioning, latch basics, common early challenges, pumping basics, bottle introduction, milk storage, helpful products, and how your support person can help you feel cared for once baby is here.

This is also a space to talk through your hopes, questions, concerns, or past feeding experiences. Maybe you had a hard breastfeeding journey before. Maybe you are hoping to exclusively pump. Maybe you want to combo feed. Maybe you have no idea what you want yet and just want to understand your options.

All of that is welcome.

The goal is not to overwhelm you with information. The goal is to help you feel prepared, supported, and aware of what to expect before you are sleep-deprived and trying to figure it all out in real time.

Breastfeeding Support After Baby Arrives

Once baby is here, feeding can bring up a lot- physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Support may include help with latch questions, positioning, nipple pain, engorgement, cluster feeding, milk supply concerns, feeding frequency, hunger and fullness cues, pumping questions, bottle introduction, and understanding what may be normal at different stages.

Sometimes support looks like walking through a specific concern. Sometimes it looks like helping you make a plan. Sometimes it looks like reassurance that your baby is acting like a very normal newborn and you are not doing anything wrong.

We can work together to troubleshoot what is feeling hard, talk through your options, and create a plan that supports both your feeding goals and your mental health.

Pumping and Bottle Support

Pumping can feel like a whole separate language.

Whether you are pumping occasionally, returning to work, exclusively pumping, building a freezer stash, or trying to figure out when and how to introduce a bottle, I can help you sort through the details.

Support may include pump education, flange sizing basics, pumping schedules, milk storage guidelines, bottle preparation, paced bottle-feeding, cleaning pump parts, creating a pumping station, understanding output, and figuring out what is realistic for your day-to-day life.

The goal is to make pumping and bottle-feeding feel less confusing and more manageable.

Phone and Text Support

Sometimes you do not need a full visit. Sometimes you just need to ask, “Is this normal?” or “What do I do next?”

With phone and text support, reassurance is never far away. We can talk through feeding questions as they come up, troubleshoot concerns, and help you feel less alone in the middle of all the unknowns.

Phone and text support may include questions about latch, pumping, milk storage, hunger cues, bottle-feeding, feeding patterns, supply concerns, cluster feeding, and what to expect as your baby grows and your feeding journey changes.

This can be especially helpful in the early days, when everything is new and every little thing can feel big.

Support Without Shame

Feeding your baby can feel tender. There are so many expectations placed on parents, and sometimes it can feel like everyone has an opinion.

My support is rooted in evidence-based information, but it is also gentle, realistic, and centered around you.

Your goals matter. Your mental health matters. Your body matters. Your baby matters.

Whether you want to breastfeed, pump, combo feed, bottle-feed, or change your plan along the way, you deserve support that honors your real life — not just some perfect version of what feeding is “supposed” to look like.

No pressure. No shame. Just reassurance, education, and support when you need it most.
