Taylor Garmaker CLS, CPD

I am a mama, postpartum doula, lactation specialist, and perinatal mental health advocate who holds value in allyship within the BIPOC community, equity in maternal health care, and each person’s journey to parenthood.

My work as a doula includes customized emotional support, gentle companioning, and holding space while providing a whole-family approach to compassion-centered postpartum support. It is always my goal when working with a family newly postpartum to be a support in all of those areas while nurturing mothers in a way that complements their own physical and emotional well-being, as well as helping facilitate bonding with their newborn and instilling confidence in newborn care and lactation.

My experience includes over 16 years of working with infants and families. I enjoyed my work as a Breastfeeding Counselor for Ramsey County WIC, and breastfed my daughter for over two years, giving me a vast understanding of how challenging and rewarding it can be. I am passionate about helping women meet their infant feeding goals, regardless of which path they choose, knowing that each journey is individual and sacred.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, my certification as a Postpartum Doula, as well as Lactation Specialist, and have extensive training in Perinatal Mental Health. I held the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors for MN Breastfeeding Coalition as well as on the Board of Directors for Pregnancy and Postpartum Support MN, Postpartum Support International’s MN Chapter.

This work is my life’s work, and I feel so honored that I get to be a pillar of support for so many in this community.

“Her kindness and care, especially between her nights here, has meant so much to our new family.”

“We are so truly grateful for all of the kind words and support. Taylor helped all of us with this transition so much, and we are just so thankful!”

“Taylor was such a confident, calm, and supportive help when my family needed it the most. Her knowledge and experience really put me at ease with my first baby. There were a lot of things that I felt unsure about, and with her support, I was able to feel confident in myself in doing these things alone.”
